The Regulatory Officer role will be in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) within Batteries WEEE and Shipments part of Environmental Markets and Regulation.
As a department we ensure that companies are disposing of their waste correctly by enforcing government regulations right waste right place.
You will play a central role in planning overseeing and delivering compliance and enforcement work within the WEEE regime helping to advance a circular economy.
As a Regulatory Officer you will:
- Provide guidance advice and support to colleagues in resolving issues.
- Support the team in ensuring the delivery of critical statutory activities.
- Develop relationships with internal/external colleagues and stakeholders
- Answer technical queries; identify problems and develop solutions.
- Gather and analyse detailed data to support evidence-led decisions that ensure customers meet their regulatory obligations
- Deal with confidential and sensitive information whilst keeping in line with data protection guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of processes procedures and operational instructions.
- Undertake audit and some enforcement work in the field and/or desk based.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
