As well as providing products and services to our member we play a broader community role by advocating for improvements in the healthcare system and in quality safety and professionalism in medicine through delivering education and research opportunity is available for a Claims Team Manager Professional Conduct (Victoria) to join our Melbourne team in a permanent full-time role involves leading a team of Claims Managers providing strategic direction mentorship and oversight of claims management to achieve the best possible outcomes for members. The Claims Team Manager works closely with the General Manager Professional Conduct Claims to ensure team performance portfolio management and member experience standards are consistently key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Oversight of the management of professional conduct claims within the teams portfolio including AHPRA and Medical Board investigations Coronial investigations Medicare compliance matters and employment and training disputes in accordance with Avants claims management protocols and clear direction coaching and support to Claims Managers to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver the best possible outcomes for active daily oversight of the teams claims portfolio monitoring file volumes durations costs and outcomes against KPIs and with Claims Team Managers and Heads of Practice across jurisdictions to share knowledge ensure consistency of approach and support a high-performance national claims opportunities for process improvement in professional conduct claims management by implementation of data driven decision to national change initiatives in addition to medico-legal education activities such as internal training article writing and external be successful in this role you will have:10 years experience in professional conduct claims management medical indemnity health law or a closely related regulatory or legal qualifications in law health or a related experience in people leadership including coaching performance management and team understanding of the Australian health regulatory landscape including AHPRA processes Medical Board functions disciplinary tribunals coronial proceedings and Medicare compliance knowledge of insurance principles indemnity decision-making and claims management ability to develop and execute effective claims strategies across complex multi-party regulatory written and verbal communication skills including the ability to convey complex legal and regulatory matters clearly to member relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and financial acumen including experience managing portfolio budgets and legal presenting at professional forums conferences or delivering member education with claims management systems (e.g. Aurora) and knowledge management platforms (e.g. LivePro) would be work at AvantDiscount of 25% on Private Health Insurance and free Salary Continuance value our people by offering an inclusive workplace with flexible work career development and internal mobility flexible working arrangements are designed to enable genuine work-life career development is our priority and we have a variety of learning and development programs that will support you in your offer support to our people via Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Wellbeing programs Tertiary Education Sponsorship and have a diverse and connected work environment where your contribution and ideas will be valued and respected and make a real difference to the lives of prefer to deal with candidates directly.
