The Role
The successful candidate will:
Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in both English Language and English Literature
Inspire students to develop confidence in reading writing and critical analysis
Support students of all abilities through well-structured and differentiated lessons
Monitor progress and provide clear constructive feedback to support improvement
Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
Support enrichment opportunities such as reading clubs theatre visits or writing competitions
Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school including form tutoring
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a degree in English or a related subject
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
Is eager to develop their teaching practice as an Early Career Teacher
Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour
Is reflective motivated and committed to ongoing professional development
Works well as part of a supportive and collaborative team
