What youll be doing

As a Healthcare Academy Trainer you will be an ambassador for the development of the core capability of our professional teams and pharmacy undergraduate students enabling exceptional patient centred care in our stores.

This is field based role where you will become part of a team working across the North of England predominately in and around Yorkshire with the potential to support teaching at Bradford University.

You will be an advocate for Boots with responsibility for providing training and coaching to support our professional clinical and regulatory capability needs both now and in the future.

As part of our national team of Healthcare Academy Trainers you will support the development of pharmacy professionals across the UK. Working within the Healthcare Business Unit you will represent Healthcare Capability and the Superintendent Pharmacists Office leading the delivery of the Healthcare Professional Development agenda across our stores Areas Regions and universities.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging interactive blendedlearning programmes that meet the requirements of pharmacy regulatory bodies (IMA GPhC UKAS)
  • Provide training that enables our professionals to provide pharmacy services
  • Deliver conference events to support the continued professional development of our professionals
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the field Support Office and external partners.
  • Support pharmacy colleagues throughout their career pathwaysfrom Pharmacy Advisor to Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician from Trainee Pharmacist to Independent Prescriber.
  • Work with NHSE and the GPhC to deliver an excellent Pharmacist Foundation Programme.
  • Positively influence professional culture by highlighting best practice and constructively challenging areas for improvement.
  • Contract with learners and supervisors (Practice Educational and Designated) providing coaching support and accountability to maintain professional standards.
  • Partner Universities and the Regions to set-up and deliver highquality placements that showcase community pharmacy and the opportunities within Boots
  • Stay current with learning technologies and delivery methodologies sharing best practice across the wider L&D community.

Within universities the team also:

  • Influence the MPharm programme
  • Inspire undergraduates and attracting highcalibre MPharm students into our future pharmacist pipeline.
  • Represent Boots through regular teaching and engagement within undergraduate programmes.

What youll need to have (our must-haves)

  • Strong commitment to professional developmentboth their own and that of others.
  • Experienced Pharmacist with extensive knowledge of community pharmacy practice.
  • You will have acted as a Designated Supervisor for a Trainee Pharmacist and supported the development of other professional colleagues.
  • Passion for presentation and coaching along with strong IT competence and a willingness to embrace new technology and learning methodologies.
  • Be able to demonstrate advancedlevel practice through completed HEE/CPPE/NHS programmes or the delivery of enhanced services.
  • Professional who can represent and promote Boots UK to a wide range of external stakeholdersfrom students and academics to local commissioners and NHS partners.

It would be great if you also have

  • Independent Prescriber qualification
  • Store management experience
  • Postgraduate diploma in Pharmacy Education and /or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (provided in role if applicable)
