Prudential Plc issues a significant number of financial products all of which involve an underlying exposure to investments both from the perspective of generating returns in line with policyholder expectations and matching any guarantees.

The Group Alternatives Investments within GCIO sets the framework for investment due diligence and ongoing performance monitoring of investment funds pertaining to non-public alternative investments. Examples of such private alternative strategies include but are not limited to private equity private real estate private infrastructure and private credit funds. The GAI team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that these investment vehicles align with Prudentials risk management standards and strategic objectives supporting the companys broader mission to deliver sustainable value to policyholders and stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities:

1) Support Performance Monitoring

oMaintain ongoing collaboration with fund managers to collect measure and analyse investment data.

oPrepare reports that provide clear insights into investment results across private equity private credit real estate and infrastructure funds.

2) Support Enhanced Monitoring Process

oThis includes:

  • Valuation Reasonableness Checks: Apply hands-on knowledge and experience in valuing Private Equity/ Real Estate/ Infrastructure deals.
    Using industry standard methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF) public comparables and analysis of past transactions.
    Checking valuation reasonableness of Private Market investments
    Documenting rationale and maintaining valuation consistency.

  • Stress Testing: Perform stress tests to evaluate emerging risks within the portfolio and assess potential impacts on investment performance.

oSignificant amount of travelling is expected to execute enhanced monitoring process

3) Support the Automation of Private Markets Reporting and Analysis

oContribute to the development and implementation of automated systems and processes to streamline data collection analysis and reporting for private market investments.

oEnhance the accuracy timeliness and efficiency of reporting through automation and process improvement initiatives.

Core Competences Required:

oValuation of Private Equity Real Estate and Infrastructure deals

oAdvantage to have Credit ratings knowledge

oStrong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and financial data tools

oSolid understanding of alternative assets classes and their unique challenges in performance measurement and risk evaluation

oExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences

oDetail-oriented proactive and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment

Education and Experience:

o5 years of relevant experience

oBachelors degree in Finance Economics Accounting or a related field
