Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Designer / RCDD to support large-scale low-voltage system projects in the St. Louis area. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong estimating expertise and a solid background in structured cabling fiber optics access control and video surveillance systems.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and develop effective system solutions
Review project documents drawings and specifications to perform accurate take-offs
Develop detailed bills of materials (BOM) and obtain competitive vendor pricing
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates including labor and materials
Collaborate with subcontractors to secure competitive bids when required
Create detailed proposals including scope of work and pricing breakdowns
Manage awarded projects and coordinate closely with project foremen and field teams
Ensure timely preparation and submission of as-built drawings and project submittals
Maintain compliance with applicable building codes electrical standards and industry best practices

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience estimating large low-voltage systems
RCDD certification (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or equivalent experience required
Strong knowledge of:
- Structured cabling systems
- Fiber optic infrastructure
- Access control and CCTV systems
- Building and electrical codes and communication standards
Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)
- Microsoft Visio
