Job Summary:
The Civil Project Engineer Underground Works will provide client-side oversight of all underground construction activities for a pumped storage hydroelectric power plant. This role focuses on tunneling shotcrete application rock support and geotechnical inspections ensuring that excavation and underground works are executed safely to design and with high-quality standards. The engineer will act as the technical point of contact for contractors on all tunneling and underground works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise tunnel excavation drilling & blasting and shotcrete/rock support works.
- Conduct geotechnical inspections and monitor ground conditions.
- Oversee steel lining fabrication and penstock installation as required.
- Review contractor plans drawings and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications QA/QC and safety standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues on-site.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Geotechnical or Mining Engineering.
- 510 years experience in underground construction preferably hydro/pumped storage.
- Hands-on experience in tunneling shotcrete and underground inspections.
- Knowledge of drilling blasting steel lining or penstocks is a plus.
- Strong technical judgment problem-solving and communication skills.
Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; PRC license is preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience in electrical and/or mechanical works for hydropower plants pumped storage projects power plants or large-scale infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with E&M systems such as turbines generators pumps transformers switchgear protection systems auxiliary systems or balance-of-plant equipment. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEC IEEE NEC ASME ISO OEM standards and local regulations). Proficient in Microsoft Office AutoCAD and basic project tracking tools (e.g. MS Project or Primavera). Strong understanding of installation testing and commissioning processes for E&M equipment. Willingness to work 100% onsite with flexibility to be assigned in either Rizal or Laguna project locations. Strong coordination documentation and communication skills. Proactive detail-oriented and committed to safety quality and project delivery.
