SEND Consultant (3-Month Contract with Local Authority)
Summary
- The SEND Consultant will spearhead the thorough testing and refinement of a proposed financial banding framework and will create a transparent evidence-based cost library to aid decision-making across SEND provision. This role is crucial in ensuring fair consistent and financially accurate funding decisions for children and young people with SEND.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed systematic testing of the proposed SEND banding framework.
- Use real cases scenarios and modeling to verify fairness accuracy and internal consistency.
- Identify gaps risks or inconsistencies and propose practical evidence-based solutions.
- Ensure the framework reflects diverse needs across mainstream specialist and post-16 settings.
Requirements
- Significant experience working within a local authority SEND service.
- Strong operational understanding of SEND practice within schools and settings.
- Proven ability to independently deliver complex projects and produce high-quality outputs.
- Experience producing professional reports for senior leadership or board-level decision-making.
- In-depth understanding of statutory SEND processes.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week
- Enhanced DBS required.
- Remote working.
- Bi-weekly payment schedule.
