Our client a global infrastructure contractor is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support tunnelling and underground construction works on major infrastructure projects.
About the Role
The Geotechnical Engineer will support geotechnical aspects of tunnel construction including geological logging monitoring ground conditions and assisting with geotechnical analysis to ensure safe and effective construction delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct soil and rock sampling and testing to assess ground conditions
Perform tunnel face logging and geological mapping during construction
Monitor geotechnical instrumentation and analyse monitoring data
Review tunnel support designs and compare to observed ground conditions
Prepare inspection and test plans for geotechnical activities
Assist with geotechnical design documentation and technical reporting
Interface with construction teams to support safe and efficient project delivery
Conduct site investigations and geotechnical analysis for construction activities
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Geotechnical Engineering Civil Engineering Geology or similar
Minimum 3 years experience in geotechnical engineering
Experience working on construction or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of geotechnical monitoring and ground investigation methods
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organisational and communication abilities
