Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic kitchen team in Drumnadrochit United this role you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean safe and efficient kitchen environment whilst supporting our chefs and cooks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hands-on detail-oriented and eager to develop their skills within a collaborative and supportive team setting.

Wash dishes utensils and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned and properly stored Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces countertops food preparation areas and equipment to the highest hygiene standards Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations
Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks including peeling chopping slicing and portioning ingredients Receive check store and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients maintaining accurate inventory records Support the goods-in and goods-out processes ensuring stock is logged and stored appropriately Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations reporting any hazards or equipment faults promptly Work proactively to identify opportunities for improving kitchen efficiency and cleanliness
Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive working environment Respond flexibly to changing priorities and support the team during busy service periods

Qualifications :

Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects safely Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately Excellent time keeping and reliability Good communication and people skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a structured team environment
Hands-on and proactive approach to work with a willingness to learn Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food hygiene practices is desirable Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced kitchen environment High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not essential Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace for all team members
