Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Programme Environment Manager to define implement and govern the environment and release strategy for a large-scale technology programme. This role focuses on ensuring that all environments are fit-for-purpose compliant and aligned with organisational standards to support successful programme delivery. The Programme Environment Manager will oversee environment lifecycle management coordinate release readiness across workstreams and establish governance frameworks that ensure consistency reliability and operational integrity across development testing and production environments.
What you will do:
- Define and implement the environment and release strategy for the programme to ensure environments are compliant reliable and aligned with organisational standards.
- Establish governance processes for full environment lifecycle management across development testing and production environments.
- Maintain a central repository for governance documentation tooling standards branching strategies and naming conventions.
- Manage environment calendars and readiness across multiple workstreams to ensure effective coordination.
- Maintain risk logs and proactively identify and resolve environment conflicts that may impact delivery timelines.
- Gate releases to ensure compliance with SDLC processes security policies and resilience standards.
- Drive automation across release and testing processes to improve efficiency consistency and reliability.
- Implement access control models FinOps guidance and security governance templates across environments.
- Monitor environment-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain compliance and operational stability.
- Partner with cloud architects infrastructure engineers and delivery leads to ensure environments support programme objectives.
- Secure stakeholder alignment on environment standards governance frameworks and operational processes.
- Define and enforce best practices across release management tooling and environment standards to ensure consistency and repeatability.
Qualifications :
- 14 years of experience working as an Environment Manager within enterprise technology programmes.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices DevOps methodologies and cloud-based environments.
- Proven experience managing environments for large-scale programmes with multiple delivery workstreams.
- Experience defining and governing environment lifecycle management processes and release coordination strategies.
- Strong knowledge of release management practices automation frameworks and environment governance standards.
- Experience implementing environment access control models FinOps guidance and security governance frameworks.
- Ability to manage environment risk logs and resolve environment conflicts across complex programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills when collaborating with architects engineers and programme leadership.
