Based in Geneva as part of a global team your role as Finance Controller will include the following duties for determined scope of companies including the Netherlands:
- Assisting the Finance Group Co-Controller with the review and monitoring of all key financial movements to ensure correct and complete information is reflected in the Group financial statements
- Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting in compliance with Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS
- Analyse financial data and provide key insights to senior management
- Keeping up with technical accounting principles to ensure that all reporting requirements are met and implemented effectively implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
- Analytical review of the balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Manage the entire audit process including liaising with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with all local tax law statutory requirements CBS reporting and internal controls
- Develop implement and enforce robust internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and efficiency across the region
- Assisting in the continuous development and improvement of processes and procedures to ensure the provision of timely and accurate financial information
- Liaising with other team members in Geneva Rotterdam Poland Romania and internationally when needed. Expect to regularly travel to our Rotterdam office and other locations.
- Assisting in completing ad-hoc reporting and analysis requested by senior management
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Finance Group Co-Controller
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in accounting control and finance. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. Chartered Accountant or equivalent)
- At least 5 years experience in accounting auditing controlling or consolidation functions ideally within a Big 5 consulting firm and / or commodity trading company
- Strong analytical and Excel modelling skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of IFRS Dutch GAAP Dutch tax laws and consolidation process
- Entrepreneurial drive good organisation skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team
- High level of ownership results-oriented proactive flexible and committed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders
- Full English and Dutch proficiency to communicate in a business context (verbally & in writing)
