Job Summary

Job Description Commis (Western)

The Commis Western Cuisine is responsible for assisting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in the preparation and production of Western dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality hygiene and presentation. This role supports daily kitchen operations and ensures that all food preparation is carried out in accordance with hotel policies and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of Western dishes according to established recipes and standards.

  • Ensure proper food preparation portion control and presentation.

  • Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen station.

  • Follow food safety hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.

  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients and kitchen supplies.

  • Assist in receiving and checking kitchen deliveries when required.

  • Minimize food waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients.

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.


Qualifications :

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar position preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel.

  • Basic knowledge of Western cuisine preparation and cooking techniques.

  • Understanding of food safety hygiene and kitchen sanitation standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.

  • Physically fit and able to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.

  • Positive attitude and passion for culinary excellence.
