About the role

Your Purpose and Impact

As Head of Tech you own Estrids full technology landscape from how we sell and fulfill to how we make decisions. Youll report directly to the CFO and work at the intersection of finance operations and commercial translating technical complexity into business impact.

Estrids tech ecosystem has grown alongside the company. The bones are good but the landscape has evolved organically and it needs a strategic owner who can impose structure reduce complexity and set a clear direction for what comes next.

A key ambition: a clean scalable AI-ready data infrastructure where well-structured data powers automation forecasting and better decision-making across the business.

This is not a hands-on coding role. You are the architect the prioritiser and the orchestrator.

Some of the things youll do:

Technology Strategy & Architecture

Own and evolve the roadmap for Estrids full technology landscape. Identify technical debt prioritise initiatives and make sure every decision is grounded in business impact not just technical preference.

Subscription Infrastructure

Own the architecture and evolution of our custom subscription solution operating alongside Shopify Plus as our core e-commerce platform. Ensure it integrates reliably across ERP logistics and data systems as we continue to scale.

Data Platform & Integrations

Oversee the BigQuery data warehouse and ETL layer ensuring reliable data flows across all systems. Work closely with external data partners responsible for modelling and transformation.

Vendor & Resource Management

Coordinate work across internal team members and external development partners. Set priorities review deliveries critically and hold vendors accountable for quality outcomes.

Stakeholder Communication

Translate technical decisions risks and trade-offs into clear business language for the CFO and leadership team. Youll be the bridge between engineering and the rest of the business.

About you

What we are looking for

You dont need to tick every box but heres what will set you up to thrive:

• Experience owning a complex systems landscape in a scaling organisation

• Strong understanding of Shopify Plus architecture including headless and API-based integrations

• Experience with data warehouse environments such as BigQuery or equivalent

• Understanding of ERP systems Microsoft Business Central is a strong plus

• Experience designing or managing integration architectures (ETL APIs iPaaS)

• Proven ability to coordinate multiple external vendors and engineering teams

• Strong ability to translate between business and technology you can hold your own in both rooms
  

Bonus points if you also bring:

• Experience from DTC subscription commerce or consumer brands

• Understanding of financial data flows and reporting requirements

• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation tools

• Experience with Stripe or Klarna integrations

• Exposure to advertising platform APIs (Meta Google TikTok)
