About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our highly motivated professional and committed team dedicated to giving the best evidence-based care to the Pēpi in our level 2A neonatal unit. We have three RN working on each shift and a mid-shift 4 days a week. We have 8 cot spaces 2 dedicated to intensive level care.
We understand that having a Pēpi in the neonatal unit can be a stressful time for everyone and we have a policy of keeping parents/caregivers well informed. Our staff complete training in Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education (FINE). We encourage kangaroo care and welcome parents/caregivers 24 hours a day.
We have rooming in facilities for whānau who usually spend at least 48 hours with their Pēpi prior to discharge. Following discharge we have a dedicated Neonatal Homecare Nurse who visits Pēpi and whānau in the home. Pēpi may also be followed up by the paediatrician in outpatients.

About the Team
The multidisciplinary team includes Medical Staff nursing staff Social Workers a Neonatal Homecare nurse Speech Language and Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists. We work closely with our colleagues in the maternity department which is conveniently located next door.

About you
A Neonatal Nurse is first and foremost a team player. The team is small with three to four nurses making up a shift so team dynamic is important to us.
We are looking for nurses who are passionate about child health and wellbeing.
Candidates need to be:
The role is for rostered and rotating shifts over 7 days. Shifts are 8 hours.
