About The Role
The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner provides advanced support to clinical nursing functions through critical thinking complex reasoning reflection and analysis in a broad range of clinically and professionally challenging situations. The role is to enhance and facilitate the timely and appropriate delivery of care to patients with acute chronic and complex conditions.
The successful applicant will need to be a highly motivated person with strong clinical interpersonal and critical thinking skills committed to providing the best patient outcomes.
To be successful youll be able to:
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and triage using advanced nursing knowledge in pathophysiology and acute clinical presentations.
- Function independently and as a key member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver timely holistic patient care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in prescribing medications ordering diagnostic investigations and making direct referrals to other health professionals.
- Initiate and evaluate patient care plans within a framework of current research clinical guidelines and NMBA National Competency Standards.
- Provide sensitive holistic support to patients and families including psychosocial care and bereavement follow-up.
- Maintain a commitment to professional development peer review and the maintenance of a professional portfolio in line with the Nurses Amendment Act.
- Contribute to the NSN Networks organisational goals through clinical teaching research and the development of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality workplace safety (WHS) and ethical conduct in all professional dealings.
Remuneration
A base hourly rate ranging from $77.73 - $83.24 plus superannuation based on experience level and qualifications exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW Nurse/Midwife Practitioner L1 Gr 1 4)

Requirements
- Current endorsement as a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.
- Provide or complete aNational Police Check(conducted within the last 12 months).
