The salary is determined in accordance with the Universitys compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates education and experience within the assigned salary range for this position.

The Admissions Counselor III under general supervision functions as the senior-level counselor identifying recruiting and contributing to increase the population of admittance and enrollment. Manages recruitment and training programs

Responsibilities:

  • Counsels and advises prospective students about admissions requirements policies statuses and office programs.

  • Assists in developing communication plans and strategies to reach prospective students. Works directly with applicants and their parents to resolve extenuating circumstances complaints appeals and options for denials.

  • Organizes implements and reports on programs already in place. Develops new high-impact programs designed to recruit students through departmental collaboration.

  • Analyzes data collected from students prior to the start of recruitment season and applies necessary changes in specific areas to assist with recruitment.

  • Assists in training admissions counseling personnel and coordinating staff development training and scheduling. May lead training sessions.

  • Provides specialized admissions sessions and presentations to a wide variety of on and off-campus groups.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of related experience.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.

  • Knowledge of admissions functions of higher education.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelors degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
