Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for an A Tech Aviation Installer - Retrofit to join our Retrofit team based in Columbus MS.
You will perform avionics and electrical installations and checkouts on assigned aircraft or parts and subassemblies. Routes and terminates aircraft harnesses performs continuity power and ground checks prior to power application. Performs configuration and programming of installed avionics components. Performs operational testing of communication and navigation equipment.

Its here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your challenges:
1. Avionics/Electrical Assembly: 60%
Perform assembly installation repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in the manufacture maintenance or refurbishing of aircraft.
Install electrical harness and sub-assemblies in aircraft by performing but not limited to the following activities: basic identification of wire and coax cable clamping bundling mounting routing stripping splicing soldering and various wire end terminations.
Assure that installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operation and function.
2. Avionics/Electrical Testing: 30%
Configures and programs installed avionics equipment IAW provided engineering data.
Utilizes various test sets (IFR 4000/6000 Pitot static ELT tester Frequency generator etc.) to conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of installed comm/nav components and systems.
Conduct bonding checks of electrical installations.
Records and signs off applicable test documents and engineering reports.
3. Avionics/Electrical Troubleshooting: 10%
Diagnose component/system malfunctions and failures.
Make adjustments repairs or replacements of necessary parts or components.
Makes appropriate workbook and logbook entries to document required maintenance actions performed on aircraft.

Technical training in an electrical/wiring installation capacity such as Industrial automotive or telecommunications may be substituted

Minimum of four (4) years experience in an electrical installation/repair field (Industrial Automotive or telecommunications)
Knowledge of electrical blueprints and drawings.
Preferred:
Minimum four (4) years General Aviation or Military Aviation

Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens able to read documents reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation (personal computer telephone copies fax machine and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: able to carry documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Lifting: able to lift documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings working on the computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes but is not limited to Safety Shoes Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Respirators/Masks and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
