About the role:

TheWebProducer isa critical member of the Backroads marketing teamresponsible forpublishingandmaintainingweb content andsitenavigationwhile meeting high Quality Assurance (QA) a mix of technical websiteknowledgedigital content managementskillsand ademonstratedcommitment to can turn projects around quickly andarewilling to follow up with stakeholders to enjoy working cross-functionally with Marketing SalesITand Trip Development teams to solve business problems on the role is not just about technicalskillbut mustalso beable towork within ahighly collaborativeenvironment.

What youll be doing:

  • SuperviseNew Trip launchesand the website Go Live process managing the critical path to get trip information and photography publishedin accordance withestablished timelines.
  • Develop andmaintaina global Design System and Component Library within the CMS to ensure visual and functional consistency across thousands of trip pages and landing zones.
  • Design and enforce automated content governance workflowsfrom intake and staging to UAT and publishingtoeliminatemanual bottlenecks and increase speed-to-market.
  • Lead sprint planning for web production and be a key participant in sprint planning forthe webdevelopment roadmap. Manage team capacity and velocity to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Create and publishnew storytelling web pagesin collaboration withmarketingdesign and copy teamsand cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge base (Confluence) documentation to supportweb content deliverablesand timelines forpublishing new trip pages and content.
  • Establish clear permission levels and audit trails tomaintainsite integrity while ensuring all digital content meets WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR/CookieBot).
  • Oversee thesynergybetween the CMS and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms to ensure seamless high-quality media delivery without manual overhead.
  • Partnerwith IT tofind efficiencies andimprove toolsrelated to site management.
  • Support A/B and user testing website optimization and web content personalization efforts to drive higher levels of engagement and conversions.
  • Proactivelyidentifyand resolve web usability and content issues.
  • Ensure accuracy superior userexperienceand quality for our digital experience.

What youll need to be successful:

  • 3- 5 yearsofdemonstratedhands-on web productionexperienceonmodern enterpriseCMS platforms (DrupalContentful Shopify Magento etc.)
  • Previousexperience withcontent-richtransactionalweb siteswhere rapid changes and accuracy are an expected course of business.
  • Technical Fluency:
    • Advanced understanding of HTML5 CSS3 and modern JavaScript
    • Expert-level mastery of a modern enterprise CMS platform (Contentful Drupal or Adobe Experience Manager) and best practices forestablishingglobal and/or dynamic modules/content blockseffectivearchitectureand efficient processes.
    • Understanding ofcore integrations such as Digital Asset Managementexperimentation platforms (Optimizely VWO) on-site searchtoolsetc.
    • Deepunderstanding ofGA4 Google Tag ManagerLookr and the website data layer.
    • Strong knowledge ofmodern marketing standardsCore Web Vitals WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance consenttoolsand the latest technical SEO/AEO/GEO frameworks.
  • Agile Mastery:Proficientin Jira for managing complex multi-team resource allocation and project tracking.
  • Must be an excellent verbal and written working with others.
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once resolving competing priorities working swiftly under pressure and meeting project deadlines.
  • Hard-wired forattention to detailtimelyresponses in a service-oriented environmentwith zero tolerance for sloppy mistakes.

Work Environment:

  • On-Site Berkeley CA
  • 4 days in-office 1 day work from home

Youll be bringing your imagination strong work ethic and critical eye for detail to a dedicated group of team members who are passionate about sharing the joys of active travel with both returning guests and brand-new audiences.

The department is comprised of several teams which include the below:

  • Direct Mail & CRM: Engages past and prospective guests through targeted email campaigns and personalized direct mail leveraging data to drive bookings and loyalty.
  • PR & Partnership: Builds brand awareness and credibility through media outreach strategic partnerships and influencer collaborations to expand Backroads reach.
  • Website Management: Oversees the websites content functionality and user experience to ensure seamless navigation accurate information and optimized conversion.
  • Brand Content Community: Responsible for the creative design content and social media presence for the Backroads brand.
