QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree with 5 years experience Masters Degree preferred
Valid Texas Teachers Certificate
Valid Principal Certificate preferred
Knowledge of effective research
Ability to plan implement deliver and sustain professional development for teachers and instructional leaders
Advanced knowledge of curriculum practices instruction assessment and intervention.
Recommended by the ESC Executive Director
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable

CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process all personal timekeeping travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position
  • Demonstrate punctual and regular attendance on the job
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
  • Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide professional development on research-based instructional strategies and assistance in the selection and use of instructional resources including but not limited to TEKS Resource System Texas OER (Bluebonnet) and Texas Curriculum Resources (TCR).
  • Design and deliver workshops on developing new or adapting Reading Language Arts strategies or existing curriculum documents such as RLA instructional units.
  • Facilitate training on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for RLA including related technology application TEKS in preparation to support state mandated assessments.
  • Analyze data and provide appropriate interventions strategies and enrichment as determined from STAAR and local assessment data for RLA.
  • Support the integration of technology into the RLA curriculum through targeted professional development.
  • Participate in identified professional development to advance skills necessary to fulfill performance responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively with Region 8 ESC content consultants to maintain instructional consistency.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and other relevant professional organizations.
  • Coordinate and implement effective training staff development and technical support aligned with program and project objectives.
  • Manage the collection of data and draft reports to meet ESC requirements for continuous improvement.
  • Travel within and outside the region (using a personal vehicle) as required to support program initiatives and district needs.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Up to 226 working days
This is an at-will employment position.
In the event of an economic slump a reduction-in-force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing
