A large nationally recognized hospital in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-volume multi-specialty surgical division.
This Level II Trauma Center is the largest acute care facility in the state and offers advanced specialty programs including adult and pediatric cardiac surgery neurosurgery burn and trauma services orthopedics and urology. The hospital maintains a high-volume surgical program with significant emergency and transfer activity.

18000 surgical cases annually (6080 cases per day)
45% of surgeries originate through the Emergency Department
30 transfers daily from outreach facilities

Position Summary
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient-centered care through oversight of overall department operations staffing budgeting and strategic growth.
This executive leader fosters a culture of accountability collaboration and operational excellence while driving quality improvement financial stewardship service excellence and strategic expansion of surgical programs.
Responsibilities
Quality
Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes
Ensure adherence to regulatory accreditation and legal standards
Standardize clinical practice to improve efficiency and reduce variation
Oversee equipment maintenance and compliance standards
Direct nursing practice and surgical unit operations
Optimize patient throughput and care coordination
Service
Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience and satisfaction
Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies to elevate service excellence
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration to improve care delivery
People
Build and maintain a high-performing surgical leadership team
Support employee engagement coaching and development
Ensure appropriate staffing and talent management
Promote a culture aligned with mission vision and values
Growth
Partner with physicians and executive leadership to expand service lines
Identify new program development opportunities
Support outreach and transfer growth initiatives
Finance
Lead annual budgeting forecasting and expense management
Monitor productivity labor management and premium pay utilization
Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining quality
Ensure effective supply and equipment utilization
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Required)
Masters Degree (Preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services experience (Required)
Minimum 3 years of applicable acute care Surgical Services leadership experience (Required)
Strong operational financial and strategic leadership skills
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $123448 $185182 (Based on experience)
