recruiting for a full-time Protective Services Manager1

located in Anchorage Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for joint management of the Anchorage Regional Office Family Services program which includes direct Supervision of five supervisors as well as their subordinate staff consisting of multiple case worker and support staff positions. The primary responsibilities are ensuring required service delivery to families personnel management and implementation of current agency and federal initiatives. As a lead program manager you will be part of a six-person management team and expected to collaborate for the greater good of the Anchorage regional office through support of not only the Family Services team but the rest of the divisional and regional teams. You must be able to establish effective communication methods ensure uniformity and continuity of services between field offices develop positive community and Tribal partnerships develop project plans implement best practice standards and supervise professional social work staff.

Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is located in the Anchorage Regional Office off of Tudor and C Street within walking distance to amenities and restaurants. Join our team as we partner with community members to establish safe and stable homes for vulnerable children and youth needing temporary or permanent care.

Special Note

This position requires a valid Alaska drivers license.
Additionally while the Division does have vehicles assigned to it they may not always be available for staff use. Mileage reimbursement is available when a personal vehicle is used for work-related matters. Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the State.
For positions in this job class a child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 and/or 13 AAC 68.315 including a background and fingerprint check.
The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.

Training in a social science behavioral science health science guidance and counseling or a closely related field;

AND/OR

Progressively responsible professional supervisory experience providing assistance information or referrals to the general public related to social services health care or legal services; providing child adult family or group case management licensing or probation services; or providing care or services to delinquent juveniles.
