Job Summary

The Role

AspartoftheacquisitionofPwCsAustralianRestructuringpracticeinSeptember 2025 we have created a position for Assistant Accountant responsible for producing accurate and timely financial records across Teneos APAC businesses including Australia China Hong Kong Japan New Zealand and Singapore. This role reports to the Finance Manager and primarily supports accounts payable activities across APAC entities.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all supplier invoices (including intercompany invoices) employee expense claims and corporate credit card transactions across APAC entities.
  • Verify that all invoices comply with company requirements are correctly addressed properly authorised and supported by appropriate documentation prior to payment.
  • Ensure adequate supporting is received for employee expenses claim and in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date purchase ledger records in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process regular payment runs ensuring suppliers and employees are paid in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Act as a key point of contact for AP related queries from internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Month-end and Reconciliations.

  • Perform bank reconciliations including foreign currency accounts and petty cash.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and any other reconciliations for accounts payable credit cards and related accounts.
  • Support month end close activities ensuring AP balances are complete accurate and properly supported.
  • Prepare and submit statutory Value Added Tax (VAT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) filing.
  • Prepare weekly timesheet report.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues unusual transactions or control gaps to the Finance Manager.

Controls Compliance and Process Improvement and wider Finance Support

  • Ensure adherence to internal finance policies approval thresholds and payment controls.
  • Support internal and external audit and any statutory filing requests by providing AP documentation and explanations as required.
  • Provide adhoc support to the Regional Finance team including assistance with reporting forecasting and other finance projects as required.
  • Work closely with colleagues across APAC to ensure consistent AP practices and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Bachelors degree with Finance Accounting Business or related disciplines are preferred but not essential (Accounts assistant)
  • Fluent in English - speaking & writing
  • Experience working with accounting systems and Excel; exposure to multicurrency environments is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and high transaction volumes.
  • Proactive organised and comfortable working with stakeholders across different countries and time zones.
