ERP knowledge COMPULSORY
A Clerk in a steel manufacturing companyhandles the administrative logistical and commercial documentation necessary for day-to-day operations. They act as the link between production warehouse sales and accounts departments focusing on material traceability inventory accuracy and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Material Tracking:Maintaining meticulous records of raw materials molten metal and finished goods often requiring knowledge of heat numbers and material certifications.
- Order Processing:Preparing and filing Purchase Orders (PO) sales orders and customer invoices.
- Logistics & Shipping:Generating shipping documents packing lists and in some cases processing customs documentation for outgoing goods.
- Data Entry:Utilizing ERP software (like SAP Oracle JD Edwards) or Excel to update inventory levels and production data.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Stock Management:Performing monthly stock takes reconciliation of inventory and reporting any discrepancies in material.
- Issuing Materials:Issuing logging and tracking raw materials to the production floor.
- Quality Support:Assisting in the verification of material specifications and compliance documents.
3. Administrative & Operational Tasks
- Communication:Acting as a liaison between production supervisors procurement and quality control departments.
- Office Tasks:Answering phone calls handling correspondence and monitoring office supplies.
- Accounts Support:Assisting with accounts payable/receivable by matching invoices with packing slips.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:High school diploma or GED is generally required; a degree in commerce () or a diploma in accounting is often preferred.
- Experience:13 years in an industrial manufacturing or warehousing environment is often preferred.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word) and ERP/accounting software (Tally SAP QuickBooks).
- Attention to Detail:High level of accuracy in handling data weight figures and material specifications.
- Safety Consciousness:Knowledge of industrial safety procedures as the role often involves working near a production floor.
Physical Requirements (for Shop-floor/Warehouse Roles)
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a noisy industrial environment with varying temperatures.
- Occasional lifting of materials or inventory.
