DescriptionThePulmonaryClinicCoordinatorcoordinatesallaspectsof thecareprovidedto specific subspecialtypulmonary patients including both inpatientor outpatient. This role is a supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and Airway team thepulmonarycliniccoordinatortrackstheprogressofpatients through their care screening patients for eligibility gathering outside medical records pending orders for provider review coordinating prior authorization and confirming appropriate scheduling of follow-up coordinator is responsible for maintaining the disease patient registry and coordinating disease-specific meetings. The coordinator may also facilitate disease support group activities and patient/provider education on their assigned pulmonary diseases. The coordinator acts as a liaison and resource for their assigned pulmonary diseases between the clinic and otherdepartmentsthroughoutthehospitaland outpatient practices. They will be expected to participate in quality improvement activities and academic activities.
QualificationsSuccessful completion of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved Respiratory Therapy program or graduate of a bachelors degree in a nursing program. Knowledge of Pulmonary diseases is required.
License/Certifications:
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License or current RN license
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required
