Job title: Project Management Lead

Location: Glasgow - hybrid working arrangement 3 days per week on site

Join us as a Project Management Lead and play a pivotal role in strengthening project delivery excellence within Thales UK.

In this influential position you will support the Head of Project Management and work closely across the wider project management community to embed best practice enhance governance and drive improved performance across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role is ideal for an experienced project / change management professional who enjoys developing capability supporting others and contributing to strategic improvement across a complex and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the ongoing development of Project Management capability across the function.

  • Line manage Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers to build confidence capability and a high performing culture.

  • Drive continuous improvement of local processes in line with Group policies and recognised best practice.

  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of the functional strategy and improvement plan.

  • Coach and mentor members of the project management community promoting knowledge sharing and best practice.

  • Support process gap analysis change impact assessments and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Support the implementation of projects and programmes (note this role isnt hands-on delivery).

  • Interface with the Bid Management team to ensure smooth transition from bid phase to project execution.

  • Provide support to projects during planning execution and closure including documentation review and process support.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities aligned with the needs of the Project Management function.

About you:

  • A solid background in project or change management delivery enabling you to uphold and embed best practice across the project management function.

  • Proven people management experience including coaching and providing guidance to Project Managers or Change Managers.

  • Experience across the full project lifecycle.

  • Client and stakeholder management experience.

  • Ability to embrace change drive solutions and work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.

It would be advantageous if currently held however if not currently held it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo achieve and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. To be eligible for full SC you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 some circumstances a minimum of 3 years residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted with additional overseas checks.
