Job Summary

Service Leader Gambling Help Service Central Coast Wide Bay or Cairns

  • Employment Term: Maximum Term to 30 September 2026 with the possibility of extension Full-time (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Location: Central Coast Wide Bay or Cairns. This role will require travel from time to time.
  • Remuneration: $55.72 p/h Super NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team

We are seeking a Service Leader to manage the day-to-day operations of UnitingCares Gambling Help Service. The Gambling Help Service provides counselling to individuals couples and families adversely affected by addiction specifically gambling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional leadership to employees with emphasis on delivery of high quality best practice service delivery.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the programs to ensure that goals and objectives are met.
  • Employ an integration of contemporary theoretical and evidence-based approaches to inform counselling treatment for individuals and/or significant others (including family/friends) who have been adversely affected by gambling.
  • Work within a harm minimisation framework to promote great public awareness on social issues associated with problem gambling.
  • Assist I the implementation and monitoring of the services budget and Client Information Systems.
  • Provide accurate and timely internal and external reports on key indicators
  • Provide oversight contribute and maintain accurate and quality record keeping.
  • Coordinate recruitment training and rostering activities
  • Develop resource material for clients families and communities
  • Develop services delivery strategies in consultation with management.

What makes a difference for us

  • As bachelors degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work Behavioral Science Psychology Counselling Social Science)
  • A minimum of two years experience working therapeutically with addiction or suitably demonstrate cross-transferable skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve service performance outcomes together with an ability to provide quality supervision and training
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation policy and licensing requirements associated with the service
  • Eligibility for registration or membership to ACA PACFA AASW or APS or other recognised body.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current Qld Drivers License
  • Working with Children Check - Blue Card
