The CMM Programmer is responsible for creating editing and executing Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to inspect manufactured components and ensure they meet engineering specifications. This role requires strong technical skills in dimensional inspection GD&T interpretation and proficiency using CMM software such as PC-DMIS Calypso or Zeiss. The CMM Programmer works closely with quality engineering and production teams to maintain accuracy and compliance with company and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop modify and validate CMM programs for dimensional inspection of parts and assemblies. Perform first article inspections (FAI) in-process inspections and final inspections according to engineering drawings and quality standards. Interpret complex blueprints GD&T and engineering specifications to determine critical measurement points. Operate CMM equipment and other precision measuring tools (micrometers height gauges calipers optical comparators etc.). Document and report inspection results using internal quality systems and customer formats (including AS9102 when applicable). Troubleshoot measurement issues and work with machinists/engineers to resolve dimensional discrepancies. Maintain CMM equipment including calibration and routine verification. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process efficiency. Ensure compliance with ISO AS9100 or other applicable quality standards. Qualifications 2 years of experience programming and operating a CMM in a manufacturing or precision machining environment. Proficiency in CMM software (e.g. PC-DMIS Zeiss Calypso Mitutoyo Modus). Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading. Experience with precision measuring instruments and metrology principles. Ability to analyze data identify defects and recommend corrective actions. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to collaborate with production engineering and quality teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace automotive medical device or high-precision machining. Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC). Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing quality or related field.
