About the Job

As a Part-Time System Engineer at Avandra Imaging you will be an early-career technical generalist supporting the stability reliability and performance of our systems. This role bridges frontline technical support quality assurance and systems automation enabling Engineering teams to move quickly and confidently.

This is a hands-on growth-oriented role designed for candidates early in their technical careers who are eager to build strong foundations in systems engineering automation and troubleshooting in a real-world production environment.

What Youll Do:

Technical Support & Systems Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve software system and infrastructure issues across Avandras products and internal tooling
• Act as a technical point of contact for escalated or ambiguous issues impacting reliability performance or accessibility
• Support deployment configuration and maintenance of software hardware and internal systems

Quality Assurance

• Contribute to the quality and reliability of Avandras software through structured QA processes
• Write and maintain automated test suites (integration regression smoke tests)
• Participate in release testing and validation efforts
• Ensure appropriate test coverage for new features and critical infrastructure

System Automation

• Write scripts and tools for deployment monitoring and troubleshooting
• Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools (e.g. Terraform Ansible)
• Improve system observability through logging alerting and dashboards
• Identify repetitive tasks and build automated solutions to reduce manual effort

What Youll Need:

• Experience in a technical role (support QA IT operations help desk) or relevant academic bootcamp or project experience
• Basic proficiency with Linux/Unix or macOS command-line environments
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python Bash JavaScript Go etc.)
• Understanding of APIs client/server concepts and modern web applications
• Ability to read and interpret logs error messages and system metrics at a foundational level
• Basic experience with databases (queries connections or schema concepts)
