Job Summary
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III will work closely with Hardware DevelopmentManufacturingTestand our Customersto support our growing productline ofPoint of Salesolutions. This is a fast-paced highlytechnicaland continually evolving ideal candidate willhaveadiversebackgroundworking in the RetailIndustryhaving wide-ranging experience uses professional concepts and companyobjectivesto resolve complex issues in creative and effective in this role will require a candidatetohavea strongbackground inhardwaredesign and experience using multipleCAD softwareapplications specifically SolidWorks in conjunctionwithdeveloping building testing and inspectingboth internal and externalproduct designs.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and design Point of Sale hardware systems and parts
- Assisting with parts creation using 3D design tools
- Solid Experience using SolidWorks CAD software for detailed drawings
- Create and review technical drawings plans and specifications using computer software
- Evaluation of vendor designs
- Evaluation of design costs and tradeoffs between cost and function
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and work with vendors and suppliers
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 6-8 Years of experience as a Mid-Senior level product design experience including modeling and analysis
- Proficient with design tools specifically SolidWorks.
- Experience with retail user interaction
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and be involved with multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic high-tech environment.
- Extensive experience working in a cross-functional collaborative environment across multiple sites
- Strong written / verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.
Preferred:
- Sheet metal design experience
- Experience with thermoform and injection-mold plastic parts design
- Retail industry experience
- Working Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies
- History of meeting challengingobjectiveswith prior experience of successfullydelivering onnew product development projects in the role of a development design engineer.
