Junior Accountant

Position based in Budapest Hungary

At Vertis our mission is to inspire and empower businesses in their transition to a lowcarbon economy. Established in 2001 we are a financially regulated company headquartered in Budapest with a presence across Europe and a trusted leader in the regulated European emissions markets.

We are looking for a Junior Accountant who would like to build a solid foundation in accounting within an international environment focused on carbon certificate trading.

This role is well suited for someone at an early stage of their accounting career who is eager to learn comfortable with structured and routine processes and motivated to develop professionally as part of a wellorganized finance team.

We believe you will be great for this role if you have

Native Hungarian and fluent English
Knowledge of Hungarian Accounting Standards (basic IFRS knowledge is an advantage)
A relevant degree in Accounting Economics Finance or a similar field
Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers and data
A structured disciplined and wellorganized working style
User-level knowledge of Excel and willingness to further develop your skills
The ability to work independently and follow established processes
A reliable taskfocused approach and respect for deadlines
Comfort with repetitive tasks combined with a careful and analytical mindset

Core Responsibilities

Perform daily accounting activities including:
- Bank accounting
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Processing expense reports
Issue outgoing invoices
Support month-end closing activities
Assist in the preparation of tax returns
Contribute to regulatory reporting to the Hungarian National Bank and the Hungarian Central Statistical Office
Support the finance team with adhoc accounting tasks as required
