Shift: Day Shift 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours (312)
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) MS/Telemetry for a travel assignment at a large acute-care teaching hospital in Rochester NY. The nurse will work in a medical-surgical telemetry unit that cares for patients recovering from cardiac procedures and other cardiac-related conditions.
The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry experience and the ability to monitor cardiac rhythms manage complex medical-surgical patients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients with a typical 1:5 patient ratio (up to 1:7 for MedSurg).
Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias or cardiac events.
Administer medications IV therapies and blood products as ordered.
Perform IV therapy phlebotomy and peripheral IV line management.
Deliver respiratory support including oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support.
Implement infection control protocols including isolation precautions.
Provide wound care management including wound VAC therapy.
Participate in rapid response and code team interventions when required.
Accurately document patient care in EPIC electronic medical records.
Float to other units within scope of practice and skillset as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
Prior Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience required
Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
Ability and willingness to float to other units within skillset
