Job Summary

Were looking for data science students who are active in AI/ML areas and are passionate about developing next generation AI technologies that will have profound impact on medicine and healthcare. You will be working with top researchers and domain experts in the field of AI for health to develop new deep learning (e.g. vision foundational models large language models) solutions and to prepare research publications for leading AI venues. During recent years our researchers have published on leading AI venues including NeurIPS ICML ICLR AAAI KDD CVPR EMNLP ACL etc. Our ambitious AI for medicine and healthcare research agenda include but are not limited to:Medical imaging foundation models across diverse imaging types diseases organs etc.
Multi-modal medical imaging analysis and report generation
LLMs for clinical efficiencies
Multimodal phenotyping for accurate disease diagnosis subtyping and progression modeling as well as patient retrieval trial matching and health monitoring
Responsible AI (e.g. interpretable models trustworthiness fairness etc)
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Working with large-scale datasets design and develop novel machine learning algorithms particularly in LLM to provide automation of clinical tasks using one or more of medical images electronic medical records waveforms and clinical reports. Demonstrating algorithms to meet accuracy requirements on general subject population through statistical analyses and error estimation. Building prototypes to enable development of high-performance AI algorithms in scalable product-ready code. Initiating/proposing unique and promising deep learning capabilities developing new and innovative algorithms and technologies pursuing patents and research publications where appropriate. Researching and evaluating emerging technology industry and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational support activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or related areas
- Experience in one area of computer science (e.g. Natural Language Understanding Computer Vision Machine Learning Deep Learning Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization.
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g. Python Java C/C etc.)
- In depth experience with one or more big data technologies like Spark/Hadoop and ML technologies like PyTorch/Tensorflow.
- Experience creating production environment data analytics and applications.

The pay rate for this position is $45-57hr.
