Accounting ManagerThe Accounting Manager supervises the accounts payable accounts receivable and purchasing functions. This position manages the closing process and maintains a system of internal controls to ensure assets are safeguarded billings and collections are accurate and all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States and university policies and procedures.Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.Benefits Include:- Competitive wage based on experience

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:- Supervises accounting staff and accounting functions (e.g. Accounts receivableaccounts payable journal entries) including bank and other account reconciliations; the maintenance of the general ledger; and the development maintenance and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures.
- Supports the preparation of financial statements accounting reports and other accounting materials
- Supports external audits 990 and other financial related compliance filings by gathering and preparing necessary reports and other materials for auditors
- Ensures compliance with the state federal and regulatory agencies reporting guidelines
- A/P Review and check disbursements
- A/R (non-student) Review and receipt processing
- Performs other related duties as requested and assigned
Desired Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience include:- Required: Bachelors degree in accounting
- Required: A minimum of 7 years of related experience in an accounting field with leadership responsibilities
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential
- Upholds andsupports the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
- Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
- Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality inthe Office of Financial Affairs and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedicts admonition that all be received as Christ.
Knowledge and Skills Required:- Possess a high degree of tact discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations and individuals
- Ability to supervise and to develop a team of accounting professionals
- Ability to work independently and with a team of colleagues
- Ability to set prioritiesand exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand interpret explain and apply rules and policies applicable to areas of responsibility
- Strong organizational verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prepare clear accurate and concise correspondence records reports and other documents
- Expertise with Microsoft Office software applications especially Excel
- Preferably proficient with the Jenzabar database and/or other accounting software
