The Product Developer manages the end-to-end development cycle of a garment from the initial design concept to the final production handover. This role is responsible for ensuring the product meets the aesthetic vision price points and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the critical path to ensure all development milestones and delivery dates are met.
- Source fabrics trims and components that align with the design brief and the budget.
- Coordinate with the design and technical teams to create accurate Tech Packs for the factories.
- Negotiate costs with suppliers to achieve the required gross margin and target price.
- Monitor the sampling process ensuring prototypes are delivered on time and meet the quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for global vendors to manage the development of the collection.
Requirements
- Proven experience in product development or sourcing within the fashion industry.
- Strong understanding of garment construction fabric sourcing and the manufacturing process.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PLM systems; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Highly commercial mindset with strong negotiation and communication skills.
