Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Masters degree in Social Work Psychology or other human services field.

Experience:

  1. Three years of professional mental health experience working with individuals experiencing trauma and mental health conditions including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  2. Residential treatment experience preferred.

Certifications/Licenses: Not specifically required unless dictated by agency but clinical credentials applicable to the field are preferred.

Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

Salary Range: 86994 annually

About the Role:

The Program Director is responsible for the leadership administration and oversight of residential mental health program operations. This includes directing therapeutic services ensuring regulatory compliance supervising multiâdisciplinary staff managing program resources fostering community relationships and upholding agency philosophy and guidelines. The Program Director ensures a safe therapeutic and strengthsâbased environment while coordinating highâquality clinical and rehabilitative services for residents.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Direct all clinical treatment and rehabilitative services.
  • Oversee service plan development implementation and quality.
  • Authorize intake and discharge decisions and supervise pre-placement processes.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents.
  • Provide oversight of assessments treatment plans progress notes and case documentation.
  • Review crisis assessments guide staff in crisis intervention and ensure accurate incident reporting.
  • Coordinate treatment teams including residents families/support networks clinical providers and external collaterals.

Personnel Management

  • Manage staff schedules time and attendance evaluations and performance issues.
  • Conduct supervision disciplinary actions and staff training.
  • Oversee hiring processes staffing patterns and onboarding.
  • Ensure employee compliance with trainings safety protocols and agency standards.
  • Monitor workplace morale handle harassment complaints and maintain HR documentation.
  • Oversee administrative operations including office systems and supplies.

Property & Facility Oversight

  • Maintain accountability of all program property equipment and vehicles.
  • Approve purchases monitor inventory and conduct regular inspections of facility and resident rooms.
  • Investigate lost damaged or stolen property and recommend disciplinary action if needed.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with federal state city and organizational regulations.
  • Develop and support program mission statements goals and QA improvement plans.
  • Coordinate audit preparation and respond to corrective action needs.
  • Oversee statistical reporting and outcome evaluations.

Fiscal Management

  • Oversee program budgets spending priorities and financial approvals.
  • Manage resident funds processes and internal controls.
  • Monitor census entitlement eligibility and collections to maximize revenue.

Resident & Family Engagement

  • Promote meaningful resident and family/support network involvement.
  • Develop engagement strategies and collaborative activities.
  • Support the formation of consumer involvement committees.

Community Relations

  • Represent the agency with community boards elected officials and local stakeholders.
  • Build partnerships with schools social services mental health agencies hospitals courts law enforcement and other community resources.
  • Support long-term residential program development through community collaboration.

Investigations & Additional Duties

  • Conduct investigations of incidents as directed by Quality Assurance or Human Resources.
  • Attend required meetings and support facility maintenance needs.
  • Host visitors participate in committees and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain on-call responsibilities and utilize agency communication tools regularly.
