The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Associate or Professor level in the Division of Transplant Surgery. Rank and tenure status will be determined by qualifications. The successful candidate will join a highly productive and expanding abdominal transplant program dedicated to the surgical management of patients requiring complex multiorgan transplantation.
Clinical responsibilities will include the evaluation operative management and longitudinal care of patients undergoing liver kidney pancreas and multiorgan transplantation as well as surgical management of endstage organ disease and transplantrelated complications. The position emphasizes excellence in deceased and living donor surgery advanced immunosuppression management and participation in innovative approaches to organ preservation and allocation.
The role includes active participation in medical student resident and transplant surgery fellow education with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and mentorship. Robust clinical translational and outcomes research opportunities are available supported by strong institutional infrastructure. Tenure eligibility is dependent upon qualifications.

Candidates must have an MD and be board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. They should have completed fellowship training in Abdominal Transplant Surgery and be certified or eligible for certification bythe American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
