ETL Developer (AbInitio)

Position Overview

As an Engineer you will be a core member of an Ab Initio development team. You will be part of the global billing and settlement technology team participating in cross-functional development across multiple teams. This role combines technical implementations and strategic planning to deliver enterprise-scale solutions.

What Youll Do on a Typical Day :

• 5 years of professional IT experience
• 3 years in Ab Initio design development and testing (Rollup Scan Normalize Read/Write multiple files)
• 5 years in design and development of distributed applications
• Must be hands-on developer - able to write good code and review/correct others code (75% time coding)
• Bachelors degree in computer science information technology computer related disciplineor5 years of work experience in IT industry
• Work in 2nd shifts (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST) and occasional weekends
• Work from Bangalore office minimum 3 days per week

What Were Looking For :

Ab Initio & ETL

• Configuration and maintenance of Ab Initio ETL Data Mapping Transformation and Loading in complex high-volume environment (Terabytes level data processing)
• Developing graphs with continuous Flows
• Performance tuning debugging and running graphs on UNIX based environment
• Designing solutions with advanced skills in high performance and parallelism in Ab Initio
• 3 years building complex ETL and data pipelines using AWS Glue Spark Python & SQL (DB2 UDB)
• Building real time analytics and data pipeline from different sources

UNIX Scripting & Scheduling

• Strong UNIX korn shell scripting experience
• Writing UNIX korn shell scripts wrappers and scheduling using Control-M

Database & Data Management

• Strong database development: complex queries Constraints Indexes Views Stored Procedures Cursors Triggers in DB2
• Exposure to DB2 UDB/SQL/Stored procedure development
• Knowledge of Logical Data model and Physical Data models

Modern Technologies & APIs

• Developing micro-services using REST framework
• Exposing and consuming data using APIs
• Experience with complex data structures (JSON XML API and Structured Data)
• Strong experience in data structures algorithms and design patterns

Methodologies & Best Practices

• Excellent working experience with Agile Methodology - delivering incremental value in short sprints
• Systems analysis and design methodology with good understanding of industry trends and tools
• Requirements analysis applications systems design and integration

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Development (75% Time)

• Hands-on software development testing code reviews in agile sprints and proof of concepts/automation tools
• Design code and implement solutions from concept to final hand-off
• Perform ongoing refactoring drive continuous improvement in code structure & quality
• Drive technical innovation best practices and delivery excellence
• Guarantee quality of software development and third-party software integration

Strategic & Architecture

• Own technical requirements list for product backlog based on industry trends new technologies defects & issues
• Collaborate to create concepts and strategies to solve business problems
• Design solutions around Ab Initio with advanced skills in high performance and parallelism
• Work with architecture experts to ensure solutions support business and IT strategic plan
• Provide feedback to Lead Architects on enterprise-wide standards utilization

Business Collaboration & Documentation

• Work with Business Analysts/partners to translate business requirements into technology solutions
• Interact with Portfolio Managers BSA team and business to understand data elements
• Ensure technical documentation to high standard (program specs implementation/support docs disaster recovery compliance)
• Provide/review estimates for design build test and implementation phases
• Influence cross-functional teams business partners vendor partners and technology leaders
