Simulations Technician MCTSP- Fort Leavenworth Kansas

Overview:
V2X GTS has a requirement for a Simulations Technician (Sim Tech) in support of the Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) in Fort Leavenworth KS. The Sim Tech provides maintenance support services and TADSS oversight required under the MCTSP and reports directly to the V2X-GTS Site Lead. The successful candidate must be a United States citizen with proof of citizenship and a Secret clearance. Standard work week is five (5) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Description:
- Responsible for performing system management and system administration functions supporting a distributed computing environment consisting of military simulations and Gaming systems (e.g. JLCCTC WARSIM JLVC/JCATS Low Overhead simulations such as LOTS/DXTRS and Gaming systems such as VBS3)
- Integrate the systems above with Command-and-Control Systems / Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS).
- Provide installation maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of the JLCCTC Federation which includes multiple operating systems.
- Maintain and ensure the integrity and security of servers and systems.
- Establish and maintain simulation system administrator and service accounts.
- Participates in special projects as required
- Safeguard and maintain property materials and facilities.
- Ensures that standards specifications practices and quality for all products and services are maintained at the acceptable levels required in the contract.
- Ensures that Quality Control standards are observed and followed.
- Provides customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
- Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information to a diverse group of customers.
- Other duties as directed by the V2X Site Lead.

Working Environment:
Applicant may be required to travel and will be required to work in compliance with OSHA and V2X Safety policies and procedures.
Must have a SECRET Clearance.
Physical Activities:
Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder.
Must be able to stoop bend and crawl on top or under training/simulation devices.
Must be able to detect odors or hear noises bangs etc. or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the surrounding environment.
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8-hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear.
Education / Certifications:
One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
High School Graduate required associate or bachelors Degree desired.
Security.
IA Level I certification.
Experience:
Fundamentally computer literate to include (but not limited to) using a personal computer perform word processing perform database input access electronic publications access the world wide web brief and debrief software and fill out electronic forms and grade sheets.
Ability to support periodic travel.
Skills & Technology Used:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
TADSS Computer & IT Fault and Troubleshooting Skills.
