The CDL CMV Driver is responsible for safely transporting products between designated locations performingdaily vehicle inspections and ensuring the secure loading and unloading of cargo. The driver must comply with all federal state and company regulations governing commercial motor vehicle operation.
Operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) to transport products between two specified location safely and efficiently.
Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety andcompliance with DOT regulations.
Load and unload products using pallet jacks or Powered Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) asrequired following safe handling procedures.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours vehicle inspections and cargo delivery records in compliance
with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
Report any vehicle defects accidents or incidents promptly to management.
Adhere to all traffic laws safety regulations and company policies while operating the vehicle.
Communicate effectively with dispatch warehouse personnel and management regarding deliverystatus and any issues encountered.
Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle including fueling and checking fluid levels.
Participate in all company related required training (safety human resources etc.) and meetings as required.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A.
A minimum of 12 months of over the road CDL Class A driving experience in the past 36 months.
Proven experience operating CMVs safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading and vehicle inspection.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Good communication and time management skills
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Ability to lift and move loads up to 50lbs using manual or mechanical means.
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to perform vehicle inspections requiring bending climbing and reaching.
Ability to squat crouch and reach as needed; able to enter and exit the vehicles cab numerous times each day
Must be able to work in severe weather conditionsboth heat and cold.
