Youll be responsible for the provision of a range of important quality assurance workforce development and safeguarding services. To deliver them youll need to work with a range of internal and external partners managing relationships and contracted services while monitoring the services audit process workforce development and scrutiny functions via the reviewing officers.
As part of the national Social Care Reforms the postholder will lead the development implementation and ongoing oversight of the Multi Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT). This includes establishing the local MACP arrangements ensuring the model is fully embedded across the partnership and providing strategic leadership so that multi agency child protection practice is consistently strong coordinated and effectively managed. The postholder will ensure the MACPT is kept under continuous review adapting the operating model as required to ensure it remains aligned with national guidance and local need.
The role will entail extensive relational work between multi-agency partners families and the Council by creating and sustaining strong partnerships to deliver the best outcomes for Barnet children and families.
About you
The role requires a qualified and registered social worker with the ability to manage both projects and finances. A confident credible leader youll have what it takes to network influence and inspire in this important role.
You will:
- Lead and supervise the Service Managers across these teams overseeing all services for children to ensure high quality permanence planning and tracking in line with statutory regulations and guidelines.
- Promote relational and anti-oppressive practice ensuring the practice model and child and family participation approaches are understood embedded and evidenced in practice.
- Produce regular and high quality analytical and concise written and verbal reports and briefings for the senior leadership team on practice quality and service developments.
- Set objectives for the service develop plans identify resources and mobilise staff to meet those objectives to ensure the needs of children young people and their families are met.
- Provide practice leadership to drive organisational change and improve professional and operational practices through delivery of training observation of practice modelling live supervision group supervision quality assurance activities and hands on practical support to the childrens workforce in managing high risk and complex case work.
- Monitor support and challenge compliance with statutory responsibilities and procedures.
- Support practice innovations responding to changing population needs risks and opportunities using evidence-based approaches evaluative frameworks and research evaluations.
- Embed a culture of organisational learning undertaking appreciative enquiry audit and disseminating learning from serious case reviews and practice reflection.
