Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Infection Prevention and Control Leadto join their team of staff in theNursing department.

This is a parttime role for 22.5hours per week. The site can support a range of shift patterns across the week.

Duties of this role include:

• Lead on the implementation and monitoring of the hospitals infection prevention and control strategy.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation regulations and guidance (e.g. CQC HIS HTM 01-05 and national IPC standards).
• Act as the primary point of contact for all IPC matters and provide regular reports to senior management and governance committees.
• Oversee surveillance of healthcare-associated infections antibiotic resistance and outbreaks.
• Investigate and report IPC incidents supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of action plans.
• Carry out regular audits and risk assessments identifying areas for improvement and ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) or relevant healthcare professional with active NMC/HCPC registration.
• Significant experience in infection prevention and control.
• Strong knowledge of current IPC legislation national guidance and audit standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence practice across all staff levels.
• Experience in incident investigation audit and delivering staff training
