Job Description:
An IT/Support Officer
installs configures and maintains computer systems networks and software providing crucial technical support to users via phone remote access or in-person. They troubleshoot hardware/software faults manage user accounts document issues and ensure operational security.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support:Provide 1st/2nd line support for hardware software and network issues.
- Installation & Maintenance:Set up configure and update workstations printers and peripheral equipment.
- System Administration:Manage user accounts active directory security patches and data backups.
- Troubleshooting:Diagnose system errors network issues and software bugs providing timely solutions.
- Documentation:Maintain records of hardware/software inventory service tickets and technical procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education:Generally requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field; sometimes an associate degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A Network) are accepted.
- Technical Knowledge:Proficiency in Windows/Mac OS networking fundamentals and Microsoft Office/365.
- Soft Skills:Strong communication patience problem-solving abilities and customer service skills.
- Experience:Previous experience in IT support or help desk roles is commonly required.
