UW Medicine Primary Care at Belltown has an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Medical Assistant - Certified (Back Office Care Coordinator).

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
  • Day Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Ideally located for those living or working near downtown Seattle UW Medicine Primary Care at Belltown offers appointments six days a week including evenings and same-day appointments. Medical advice is available 24 hours a day seven days a week. UseMyChartto message your care team any time or call your clinic during business hours and youll receive a call back within a day. When the clinic is closed youll reach an after-hours consulting nurse service.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership to medical assistants
  • Schedule and assign medical assistants to ensure appropriate staffing
  • Train medical assistants and others and serve as a resource to other clinical providers
  • Participate in the interview process for medical assistants and other clinical hires
  • Train and orient new employees
  • Manage clinic flow using organizational ability to effectively prioritize work tasks to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner and that clinic needs are met
  • Provide accurate appropriate and culturally sensitive education to clinic patients
  • Oversee coordination of care by assisting providers in the maintenance of clinic processes to ensure timely follow-up on reported test results
  • Perform related duties as required


REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
  • Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$30.31 hourly

$43.39 hourly
