Position Summary
The Hospital Linen Distribution Technician supports NOVO Health Services mission by ensuring the accurate efficient and hygienic distribution of clean linen throughout designated hospital units while collecting and returning soiled linen for processing. This role plays a critical part in NOVOs value-driven linen management system by maintaining safety infectionprevention standards and exceptional service delivery. As a frontline representative the technician serves as a key point of contact for hospital staffpromoting NOVOs commitment to reliability quality and outstanding customer care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver clean properly stocked linen in covered carts to assigned hospital departments.
- Collect soiled linen from multiple units and transport items securely in covered carts to designated return locations.
- Verify document and reconcile linen quantities prior to distribution to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Perform routine linen inventory counts and help maintain required PAR levels across all units.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client concerns service needs or linen quality issues.
- Communicate operational concerns shortage alerts or qualitycontrol issues to the NOVO supervisor.
- Build strong customer relationships by providing attentive solution-focused service that supports patientcare readiness.
- Uphold NOVOs quality safety and infectioncontrol standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean orderly and safe work environment to support efficient workflow.
- Follow all NOVO operational procedures hospital policies safety protocols and Joint Commission standards.
- Operate carts transport equipment and other distribution tools safely and effectively.
- Complete basic clerical tasks such as documentation phone communication and data entry as needed.
- Support department operations by assisting with additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 12 years of experience in healthcare manufacturing environmental services or a similar fast-paced industry preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with hospital personnel.
- Positive dependable and team-oriented attitude with strong initiative and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.
- Ability to stand walk bend stoop twist and reach for extended periods during shift work.
- Ability to safely operate linen carts transport equipment and inventory mechanisms.
- Ability to sort stack and load linen items into carts with consistent accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Flexibility to work evenings nights weekends or holidays based on hospital needs.
- Openness to feedback and willingness to collaborate with NOVO supervisors and hospital partners.
- Basic computer proficiency with a :willingness to learn new inventory and documentation systems.
