POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Controller is responsible for overseeing the full accounting bookkeeping and financial reporting functions for all Woodward Video companies.
- This role manages daily financial operations ensures compliance with government reporting and licensing requirements supports payroll and tax functions and contributes to operational efficiency through organization leadership and technology improvement.
- The Controller works closely with ownership and management to support the financial health and growth of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting activities for all Woodward Video companies
- Prepare quarterly financial reporting and consumer sales reporting
- Process payroll for all company entities
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Manage POS system reporting and prepare Profit & Loss statements
- Track and reconcile store deposits
- Prepare and file required tax forms includingand 1099 forms
- Coordinate and communicate with external accountants as needed
- Licensing & Tax Compliance
- Assist with lottery health and liquor licensing requirements
- Manage property tax and real estate tax filings
- Prepare financial estimates and support forecasting needs
- Office & Operations Support
- Maintain an organized efficient and professional office environment
- Participate in hiring and termination of office staff when needed
- Support company growth by identifying and implementing new technology and process improvements
- Company Leadership & Representation
- Demonstrate strong professionalism and prioritize people-first leadership
- Continuously seek learning opportunities and skill development
- Take on new responsibilities and challenges as business needs evolve
- Represent Woodward Video positively within the community
- Communicate proactively with leadership if responsibilities become unclear or stagnant
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong experience in bookkeeping and accounting operations
- QuickBooks Online Experience
- Payroll processing experience
- Knowledge of financial reporting reconciliations and tax documentation
- Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational communication and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial and company information
Header: A motivated Controller to oversee our accounting operations and help strengthen the financial foundation of our growing organization. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently take ownership of financial reporting and continuously improve internal processes.
Must Have:
- Demonstrated experience performing Controller-level accounting oversight including managing accounting and bookkeeping operations.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online used for accounting/bookkeeping functions.
- Payroll processing experience supporting company financial operations.
- Experience preparing financial reports reconciliations and financial statements (including P&L and reporting activities).
