DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Systems Administration Associate III and contribute to global health outcomes through our clinical research this role youll provide implementation operational and maintenance support for enterprise software applications ensuring a stable systems environment with optimal performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include supporting analytical software dedicated hardware and server-based laboratory applications. Youll resolve application issues execute change requests maintain system documentation and collaborate with colleagues to address technical challenges. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovations while supporting our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
2 years of experience in systems administration or equivalent combination of education and training
Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science or related field
Technical certification may be required
Proficiency with server administration and architecture (Windows Server Linux)
Knowledge of relational database concepts
Experience with desktop operating systems and productivity applications (MS Office MS Project MS Visio)
Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex application issues
Demonstrated ability to coordinate solution implementation across multiple groups
Experience with laboratory information systems preferred
Initiative to drive issue resolution to completion
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills quickly
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
May require occasional travel
Must be able to work in office/laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological materials
Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various positions as needed
