Senior Full Stack Mobile Engineer (Android)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Mobile Engineer (Android) to design build and maintain high-performance mobile applications that deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes.
This role is primarily focused on Android development with opportunities to contribute to iOS initiatives where required. You will work closely with product design and engineering peers to deliver scalable maintainable and secure mobile solutions using modern engineering practices.
You will take a holistic approach to solution design applying proven architecture patterns strong coding standards and CI/CD automation to ensure quality reliability and long-term sustainability of mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery & Engineering Leadership
Lead Android development using modern frameworks and best practices while contributing to iOS development when required.
Deliver high-quality fit-for-purpose mobile solutions that are scalable maintainable and well documented.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to estimate plan and deliver work on time on budget and to agreed quality standards.
Assess system requirements and technical specifications proactively identifying and mitigating risks prior to implementation.
Contribute to solution design and technical decision-making across mobile initiatives.
Support system integration and user acceptance testing activities.
Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and mentor team members on engineering best practices.
Stay current with industry trends tools and emerging mobile technologies.
Process Improvement & Ways of Working
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering practices and delivery processes.
Actively participate in communities of practice and knowledge-sharing forums.
Promote a culture of learning innovation and continuous capability uplift.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory Android
Strong experience with Kotlin Jetpack Compose Coroutines and Accessibility standards.
Proven use of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM MVP and Clean Architecture.
Experience with unit testing and UI automation testing (Espresso).
CI/CD experience using tools such as GitHub Actions and Fastlane.
Static code analysis using tools like Detekt and SonarQube.
Familiarity with crash reporting tools such as Crashlytics (or equivalent).
Secondary iOS (Desirable)
Working knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI.
Understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and accessibility principles.
Experience with unit and UI testing using XCTest.
General
Strong experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
Experience integrating mobile applications with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
Familiarity with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira Confluence Slack Figma and Miro.
Solid understanding of security best practices and vulnerability management in mobile applications.
