Job Summary
General Purpose:
Serves members and guests in and around pool area while enforcing all water safety policies and procedures while maintaining cleanliness of facility.
Key Responsibilities of the Pool Attendant:
- Maintains cleanliness of facility operations according to established daily maintenance procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department programs events and activities.
- Answers guest questions regarding such programs.
- Records all cash check and charges based on established cash control procedures.
- Maintains understanding of operating procedures for pool and pool equipment.
- Completes checklist for opening closing and daily procedures.
- Takes direction from Facility Coordinator Special Event and Youth Coordinator and Conference Recreation Coordinator.
- Assists in the implementation of programs youth programs special events and conference recreation events.
- Provides safe environment within facilities and activities.
- Processes recreation reservations as needed.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently uses hands talks and hears.
- Regularly stands and sits.
- Occasionally walks reaches with hands and arms climbs balances stoops kneels crouches or crawls tastes or smells.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); near fumes or airborne particles and near toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Noise level is moderate.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- No prior Pool Attendant experience or training required.
Certificates/Licenses:
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Job Knowledge Skill and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
