About the Role

FEE seeks a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Editorial Associate to join our editorialteam. This entry-level position offers a great opportunity for someone passionateabout publishing writing and content creation to begin their career in theeditorial field. The Editorial Associate will support our editorial operations whilegaining valuable experience in manuscript development content managementand publishing processes. This position reports to the Editorial Director and isideally based in-person at our Atlanta office. Exceptional remote candidates maybe considered.

Key Responsibilities

Content Support & Development

  • Assist editors with manuscript review and basic copyediting tasks.
  • Conduct fact-checking and research to verify information accuracy.

Administrative & Production Tasks

  • Track manuscript progress through various stages of the editorial process.
  • Prepare editorial reports and status updates for senior staff.
  • Help coordinate author communications and manage correspondence.

Research & Analysis

  • Research potential topics trends and market opportunities.
  • Support acquisition efforts by researching authors and proposals.

Digital & Social Media Support

  • Help maintain editorial calendars and content schedules.
  • Assist with basic website content updates.
  • Support social media content creation related to published works.
  • Help manage digital asset libraries and content databases.

Key Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in English Journalism Economics or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors.
  • Basic understanding of grammar style and publishing standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or coursework in publishing journalism or editorial work.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and basic HTML.
  • Experience with research databases and fact-checking tools.
